We encourage kids to come out and see what our club is all about. We have many fun shoots each month (see calendar) that offer a great time at a very low price (free to first timers). We believe the future of our sport lies in the hands of our children, and the best way to ensure that future is to teach them safe and responsible firearms handling.

We currently offer many classes and programs for our youth, and are always looking for new ways to attract a larger crowd. As you look through our site you will notice many programs directed toward our youth including the newly formed Four Corners Rod and Gun Club Educational Foundation.

Our Colonel Allison Junior Rifle Club(CAJRC) was founded in 1951 and is the heart of our junior program. The success of this club is the result of countless hours of volunteer coaching by both members and the children's parents. This club has captured many national championships as well as producing many individual national champions. The club is affiliated with the NRA, CMP, and USA shooting, and has provided many kids with opportunities to shoot in the Junior Olympics, NRA Nationals, and go on to receive college scholarships.

CAJRC trains the kids in four disciplines; smallbore rifle, and precision air rifle. The cost is just $7.00 per month and all equipment, targets, and ammunition is provided.

The shooting season follows the school year so stop on by and check it out!

Smallbore

CAJRC is a competitive shooting club.  We start new shooters on the Smallbore (.22 calliber) line.  Smallbore practice is held each Saturday, between the start of school and Memorial day weekend, when the CAJRC is not hosting a competition.  Here we teach kids the basic positions, with an emphasis on gun/range safety.  The positions we train include Prone, Standing and Kneeling.  These positions are taught along with shooting fundamentals like: Natural Point of Aim, Sight Picture, Alignment, Breath Control, Trigger Control and Follow Through.  Shooters are trained to score their own targets and learn goal-setting techniques. Our goal is for kids to get into competitions with the ability to shoot their best.  Once a shooter has shown they possess a strong grasp of the fundamental shooting positions, and have become active in attending shooting competitions, they may be invited to participate and practice with our air rifle line.

Air Rifle

Once shooters have proven they possess a strong grasp of the fundamental shooting positions, and have become active in attending shooting competitions, they may be invited to participate and practice with our air rifle team.  Here we continue to develop various skills to make the shooters more competitive at various competitions.  We continue to emphasize gun/range safety. We also encourage the competitor to advance beyond the Oregon/Washington matches.  Many of our Air Rifle athletes have been invited to, and have attended National competitions.  Some of these competitions include the Junior Olympics held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and National Championships held at Camp Perry, Ohio.  They have also represented us well at numerous other National competitions held at various locations throughout the United States.  Our Air Rifle team practices Wednesday evenings.  Remember, only athletes who have shown a high degree of commitment to the precision shooting sport are invited to participate on the CAJRC Air Rifle team.
