Rim fire Rifle  & Pistol Silhouette Shoot
Match Director: Dean Backer
Rifle Portion
Targets, and Distances:
10-Chickens @ 40-Meters (44-Yards)
10-Pigs @ 60 Meters (66-Yards)
10-Turkeys @ 77-Meters (84.7-Yards)
10-Rams @ 100-Meters (110-Yards)

Targets are made from ¼" steel and sized to represent each animal (visually) at the stated distances.   Each set of ten animal targets is arranged in rows of five, one above the other at the stated distance.
Course of Fire:
Shooters to the line: Contestants to load five rounds of ammunition and place loaded gun on bench.
Ready: Contestants to retrieve loaded gun from bench, and point down range (15-seconds allotted for these procedures).
Fire: Contestants have (2 ½) two and one half minutes, to fire (5) five rounds of ammunition at the lower row of five silhouettes.
Cease Fire:  Contestants return their unloaded gun to the bench.

Match director will again call shooters to the line, and the above procedures will be repeated.  Contestants will expend (5) five rounds of ammunition at the upper row of (5) five silhouettes.
After each contestant has fired (10) ten rounds of ammunition at one set of silhouettes, they will be directed to move their unloaded guns and ammunition to the next set of (10) ten targets at the new distance.
The above procedures will be repeated until each contestant has fired (10) ten rounds of ammunition at each set of target silhouettes totaling 40-rounds.
A B&B (beans and bull) break is called, after which the entire procedure is repeated, giving each contestant (80) eighty rounds of ammunition fired.
Rim fire Pistol Portion
Every aspect of the pistol silhouette course of fire remains exactly the same as the rifle course, with the exceptions that all targets are moved to (½) half the distance and the course is shot only once around, thus totaling (40) forty rounds of ammunition fired. The pistol portion of the shoot is held following the rifle portion.  Many shooters compete in both events.
