As the name implies, Defender
Pistol events are designed to develop skills in the defensive use of
handguns. There is no quick-draw, running, or other physically
challenging element in our tournaments. Shooters of all ages are
welcome; and older or handicapped persons are not at a disadvantage
when participating in the matches. The pace is relaxed, and the
camaraderie is infectious.
Each tournament features a
different format with regard to target styles, firing sequence, and
time limits. Indoor events require rim fire pistols, and outdoor
meets permit any center fire pistol. Revolvers or autoloaders having
iron, scope, or red dot sights may be used. Matches last little
more than an hour.
Our purpose is to offer an
opportunity for friendly competition with firearm safety as a
priority. Please check the club calendar for our two matches each
month, and join us in the fun.
