 We have created the Four Corners Rod and Gun Club Educational Foundation have received our IRS charitable foundation tax status. In the future we hope to incorporate all of our educational, training, and public services into the foundation. We currently give a $500.00 one time scholarship to  Junior club members, that have met the requirements, for college .

 Basic Pistol Course

Due to limited room  pre-registration is required.


 Course Goal: To teach the basic Knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely.

This course is designed to teach the safe handling, shooting, cleaning, and storage of a handgun. The course is designed with beginners in mind, but promises to teach shooters of all calibers. Even long time shooters may like to refresh their basic safety and shooting skills. The class consists of one Saturday of classroom work (6hrs) followed by four hours on the range on the following morning. Class graduates receive an NRA handbook, safety pamphlets and a completion certificate suitable for framing. This class is the first in a series of classes we will be offering and does meet the CHL state requirements. Basic Pistol Equipment List

A good quality handgun
On range day the following is required:
50 Rounds of factory handgun ammunition (Due to NRA requirements please bring at least 100 rounds of ammunition.)
Clothing suitable for spending the day outdoors in the Pacific Northwest.  While we hope for good weather please be prepared for any weather, because rain is common in this area.  The range is outside but the shooting area is covered.
The following are recommended on range day:
    Hearing Protection
    Wrap around eye protection   
    Notepad and pen
    Baseball type cap with visor

 

Basic Rifle Course

The class teaches the fundamentals of safe rifle handling and basic rifle marksmanship along with selection, care, and storage of rifles.  The class is for anyone wanting to learn about shooting targets with a rifle.  The course will be one day of classroom instruction; 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM and one morning of shooting on the range, 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM.  It will cost $40.00 for club members/associate members and minors (less than 18 years old on the first day of class), and $70.00 for nonmembers.  Minors must be accompanied by a guardian, the guardian does not need to enroll in the class.  Shooting will be done with rimfire rifles only; .22 rimfire rifles are available for students that don’t have a rifle.  A minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition is needed, 100 rounds is better.  If using a club rifle you will need .22 long rifle (.22LR) ammunition.

Range Day, Sunday:

Notepad and pen or pencil for note taking.

Rimfire rifle (.22 rimfire rifles are available for use from the Four Corners Rod and Gun Club).

Minimum of 50 rounds of rimfire ammunition, 100 rounds is better, (.22 long rifle rimfire ammunition if using the club's rifle).

Ear muffs hearing protection (Recommended).

 Wrap-around eye protection (Recommended).

Baseball type cap with visor (Recommended).

Clothing suitable for spending all day outdoors in the Pacific Northwest . While we hope for fair weather, please be prepared for any weather, because rain is common in this area. The range is outside, however we have covered shooting positions. Footwear should be suitable for mud, although most of the range is well graveled.
